Jay Engineering History
Jay Engineering is a small, local, family owned and operated company that Dan Jay had always aspired to create since his days as Will County Engineer. While the concept has been around for many years between the brothers - Dan, Tom, Dave, and Randy - it wasn't until 2006, well after serving as Will County engineer and before he served 8 years as Wesley township supervisor, that Jay Engineering registered and officially became an LLC with Dan as CEO and Head Engineer. While crazy times bring unpredictable work conditions, ESPECIALLY for small businesses like ours, Jay Engineering always has stayed up and running and happy to say we even still have our crazy affordable, family-like rates and even keeping them through the recession. Same goes for our family like atmosphere as Blaze, our dog, is the face of the company and its logos. In 2016, Cody Jay was promoted to the Survey Head after many years with the company and some newly gained experience with a couple "bigger" companies. In 2020, as Cody worked his way through college for surveying, the company name was changed to 'Jay Engineering and Survey' and Cody was promoted to COO - taking over a lot of the front end duties and technologically related business aspects. Since then we have been working to improve our outreach and services as we feel we offer valuable services at a fraction of the cost of 'the big guys'.
