Dan Jay | PE CPESC CFM
CEO, Engineer Lead (Civil, Enviromental and Otherwise)
Daniel is an established Registered Professional Engineer with over 30 years of experience, and a balanced approach to both private and public sector projects. Since graduating from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1991, he has become a Registered Professional Engineer, Certified Floodplain Manager, and a Certified Professional in Erosion Control. Dan served as will county engineer for several years before leaving the municipal sector to form what is now Jay Engineering. He has worked on a wide array of projects including new subdivisions, road reconstruction, infrastructure design and rehabilitation, floodplain analysis, and both residential and commercial site plans. In his free time, he likes to garden and play guitar.
Cody Jay | LSC (Land Survey Cerified)
COO, Survey Lead
Cody Jay is 30 years old and has resided in Wilmington, IL his entire life. Professionally he has been surveying for 15 years – the whole 15 years with Jay Engineering and a few stints with bigger companies working under a PLS. Cody has attended Joliet Junior College, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and Parkland College. He has an Associate's Degree with a focus in business from Joliet Junior College as well as a Land Survey Certification from Parkland College. He has worked on a large variety of projects such as – the I55 Lake Shore Dr exit as well as an OHare runway in Chicago, historical site relocation in Lockport, and many topographical surveys in the Will and surrounding counties area – among a wide variety of others. One thing Cody really enjoys about surveying is the diverse work environments and getting to know their surroundings and people. In his free time he can be found out with his GSP - Blaze, fishing, keeping his lawn super green, or just playing video games.

Blaze is our 13 year old GSP that is the face of the company. He may be 13 but dont let your guard down, he can easily fool you for a puppy. Blazes favorite things to do are eat, go on walks with family, terrorizing the fruit and vegetable gardens, swimming in the Kankakee River, and just generally rolling in grass. He is regarded to as the king where he resides. One thing we know he can't wait for besides being the face of the company is to go on peasant hunts in the fall and winter.
